Cornelissen

This year’s NABBF will host several breweries not yet importing to the US to sample some of their beers to get guest reactions and guidance. We’re profiling several of them. First up is Browerij Cornelissen.

Cornelissen is a very old brewery that has been brewing beer since 1934. It is a village brewery that specializes in pils but also brews a wide variety of specialty beers. Many of the early recipes remain unchanged, sometimes going back 80 years. The beers are brewed based on the main staples; water, yeast, hops, and malt.

King Mule IPA: A Belgian style IPA that is unfiltered. It is smooth and light with notes of tangerine and balanced with hops. Because it is unfiltered, it is hazy with loose yeast. It was brewed with low fermentation. 5.7% ABV
Luxury Lager: This Lager is brewed according to the traditional Belgian brewing method of lagers. It is a refreshing light lager balanced with Belgian hops and malts, with low fermentation. 5.5% ABV
